Bought a $45.00 time card. Pre-paid plan was for $40.00. Card was not honored because it was $45.00. Said it did not match plan. Refused to add time to phone or a refund. Dishonest and unfair. I bought a $45.00 time card to put on my son's phone, but when he added the time he was told the card didn't go with his $40.00 pre-paid plan. He called the store where I bought the card, and they said it is a consumable purchase, and they could not refund the time card. I am a person of modest means, don't need a phone for constant calls but see the value of a cell phone for emergency use. I finally purchased a cell phone (Samsung T401G) from Net10 about 7 years ago and have used 300 minute/60 day service cards for activation all that time. I purchased a $25 Net 10 card for my 17 year old son. When we tried to activate it said it was invalid for his phone, I called customer service and was informed I needed to purchase at least a $30 card for his type of phone. I couldn't return the unused card because of course the pin had been scratched off. Net10 claims "No contract' for their cell phone service, but if you go over a month without buying their service they deactivate your sim card (without even a courtesy email notification)! Then you have to go through (offshore) customer service to have them send you a new sim card and when it arrives you call them again to activate that. This week I got a letter from Net10 saying my old 2G flip phone needed to be upgraded, but that as a loyal customer, (Counting my Original Trac-Phone, about 10 years) I am eligible for a free replacement phone (limited supply), if I contact the website or call before July 6, 2016. NET 10 IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM. They stole my money! I brought my own phone and purchased a $50 monthly plan. Days later I discover my phone has been deactivated. When I called customer service they told me that my service was deactivated for excessive use of data. Data that I paid for, they shut my phone off despite what I paid. The worst plan and customer service on the planet! I understand if a few dropped calls here and there (once in a blue moon), but my internet not stable, always have to change APN settings. Customer care is NOT customer care. It's a bunch of script reading foreigners who do not have the technical skills. The only thing they are good for is NOTHING! I have had service with net 10 for over ten years. Had no real problems until the last two times I tried to add minutes. Two months ago I tried to add a 300 minute 60 day prepaid card with rollover. This phone is mostly a backup phone that rarely gets used and as such, I had built up 9,999 minutes. When I added the prepaid card, it gave me the 60 days, but the minutes remained @ 9,999. Made 2 calls to get my sim card. the computers they use must be very old, took almost 45 m each time for them to get info. got transfered 3 times on 2nd call, when they try to update my info, they say please hold on, it takes like 8 m each time they input info. they say I will have my sim card by friday, we shall see. guess thats what kind of service you get when its not from amercia. had service with them on my old flip phone, never had any...
